by Jeff Alexander | The Muskegon Chronicle
    Tuesday February 19, 2008, 12:02 PM

Snowfall is breaking records, but it's still warmer than usual

by Scott E. Pacheco | The Bay City Times
    Monday February 18, 2008, 8:27 AM

You don't need to look farther than the Saginaw Bay to notice this winter is different from the past few years.

Massive ice piles have formed, mounds that haven't been seen in about 20 years, said Ed Clements, 32, who regularly fishes on the bay.

"The ice piles are huge," he said. "There's some pretty big piles of ice from the wind and the thawing and the (freezing). ... Some of them are pretty impressive."
